What does a technologist do?
All WIS technologists are trained to properly position patients for each diagnostic procedure and to operate the corresponding diagnostic equipment.

What is a radiologist?

A radiologist is a physician (medical doctor) who completes an additional one-year internship and a four-year residency in diagnostic radiology. Many radiologists spend more years beyond this level of education to obtain subspecialty fellowships such as neuroradiology, pediatric and interventional radiology.

The radiologist supplies your physician with consultation and information needed to provide you with appropriate care and treatment.

Why is subspecialty expertise important?
The physician with a subspecialty in a particular area offers the patient heightened insight and expertise. Subspecialty training gives the physician a greater breadth and depth of knowledge which benefits the patient.

How do I get a copy of my report and films?

A copy of your image study is sent with the report to your referring physician in one of three ways: electronically, on CD or on film. The mode is based on the physician's preference.

Copies of your report will be mailed to additional physicians upon request. Simply call 426-688-0100, Ext. 3 or send a request via the internet to info@washingtonimaging.com. We do not release report copies to patients.

Copies of the images from your study at WIS can be obtained from the same source above and are available on a CD at no charge. Film copies of your study are available for a charge of $1 per page, paid at the time of the request.

Will my personal privacy be safe and protected?
Yes. WIS is compliant with all the Federal privacy regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The WIS Privacy Statement is available on this website under About Us/Our Policies.

How much of my bill will Medicare pay and am I responsible for the difference?
Medicare pays 80% of their approved amount and you are responsible for the remaining 20%. If you have secondary insurance, WIS will bill it directly. If you have no other insurance, we will send you the bill for any remaining amount owed.
