WIS' Position on the Frequency of Mammography Exams

Until there are clear clinical trials and research indicating otherwise, Washington Imaging Services will continue to support the American Cancer Society's guidelines which recommend that women begin annual breast screening via mammography at age 40.

We also encourage women who have any concerns about breast screening to discuss it with their primary care providers
